As the first semester of my year one nursing program comes to an end, I can’t help but wonder about my clinical experience in the upcoming semester. I must say that I am both nervous and excited about going to my first clinical. At this moment, I still feel that I am not yet prepared and ready for the ups and downs that I may experience during clinical. I feel that I don’t yet have a full understanding of myself. Everyone says that each individual has an ability that makes each one of them special, this is something that I am still searching in myself. I continue to ask myself what my special abilities are. What makes me different from everyone else?
According to the some fourth year nursing students that I was given the chance to speak with, I was told that it is normal for a person to feel unsure about their first clinical and no one can really predict what to expect. I also was told that as I continue to progress in the nursing profession, I will eventually have great understanding of myself and be able to recognize my strengths and weaknesses.

I completely agree with you because I am on the same boat as you are. Although, I know that I don't know myself completely in regards to attributions but I know that I will give my 110% when delivering care. Hopefully, every first time clinical practitioner at least try to do their best in clinical regardless of how cloudy their knowledge may be.
